Basukinath temple

The ancient Basukinath temple is said to be the court of Baba Bhole Nath. In Basukinath Dham, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati temples are in front of each other. It is believed that Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati meet each other in the evening when gates of both the temples are opened.

The name Basukinath comes from the name of Basuki who is considered the Lord of the Naagas, or Cobras that worship Lord Shiva. It is said that this Shivlinga was established here by Nagraj Basuki. In ancient times, cobras used to worship the Shivlinga at night.

Basukinath is located in the Dumka district of Jharkhand. The pilgrimage to Babadham Deogarh is considered incomplete without a visit to Basukinath.
