Kuttiattoor Sivakshethram is an ancient Maha Siva Temple of Kerala, located 20 kms from Kannur.
During Dwapara Yuga, the brother of the sage Khara Maharshi was cursed for insulting Siva Bhaktas. He had mental problems. To get his disease cured, Narada Muni advised Khara Maharshi to travel through a cave starting from the bank of Sarayu river that reached Kuttiattoor. Khara Maharshi established the Siva Temple in Kuttiattoor and illness of his brother was cured.
