Across South East Asia, Bel is known by different names: ព្នៅ, Maak Tuum ໝາກຕູມ, Pokok maja batu, Mahh dtuumm มะตูม, Luuk Maah dtuumm ลูกมะตูม. Scientifically, Bel is called Aegle marmelos.
