Katakeswar Temple Tezpur Assam
Katakeswar Shiva ling is the largest and oldest in the region discovered by archaeology department recently. Massive Shiva ling is crude stone pillar of 2 meters height, separated from the yoni of gigantic 3×3 meter size, broken from the centre into two pieces. Shiva Ling looks prehistoric of Megalithic age. It is protected and worshiped by Indian Army. There is a gigantic pipal tree at the entrance, of more than 500 years old.
